PPTA Europe is actively engaged in setting advocacy and priority initiatives for improving access to care to plasma protein therapies at both the European Union level and within member states. Staff monitors legislative and policy developments related to the sector of plasma protein therapies, including, but not limited to, plasma collection, manufacturing, safety and quality.

The 2017 Hilfenhaus Award was bestowed to Professor Henriette Farkas, MD, Ph.D., DSc, during IPPC 2017 for her work related to treating those suffering from Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) and working to improve treatments and patients’ quality of life.
