International Plasma Awareness Week (IPAW) will be celebrated October 7-11 and is a chance to raise greater awareness about the need for plasma-derived medicines and recognize the contributions of plasma donors. Each year, IPAW has three main objectives:
- Awareness: Raise global awareness about source plasma collection.
- Recognition: Recognize the contributions of plasma donors in saving and improving the lives of patients living with rare and/or genetic conditions around the world.
- Understanding: Increase understanding about lifesaving plasma protein therapies and rare diseases.
This year, PPTA is excited to share a new IPAW-dedicated website – www.plasmaweek.org – which contains free downloadable resources including print and digital materials, as well as information on how to get involved and let others know about the conditions treated by plasma and the donors who provide lifesaving plasma.
